More than 12,000 students from schools throughout Long Island have participated in just the past five years alone.
The Cinema Arts Centre is pleased to present its popular Film Arts in Education screenings for schools in Nassau and Suffolk counties. An ongoing community and school outreach, these easily arranged and modestly priced field trips for junior and senior high school students are an important part of our year-round exhibition program of outstanding American and international films. All screenings take place in our comfortable, state-of-the-art theaters, where students can see films from around the world that are related to their course of study. The films are presented in their entirety under optimum conditions, without interruption, on a large screen.
Film Arts in Education is presented during the Fall (October, November, December) and Spring (March, April, May) of the school calendar year. The minimum number of students for each program is 75, but we are usually able to combine smaller groups of students with others from various schools. Study Guides and Guest Speakers are available for many programs. Admission is $6.00 per student ($5.00 per student for groups over 100 from the same school). The films are screened Monday through Friday at 10AM.
