MONTY PYTHON AND THE HOLY GRAIL
with film historian Glenn Andreiev

As the Monty Python troupe began filming MONTY PYTHON AND THE HOLY GRAIL, with all their period costumes, locations, props and deadly weapons, co-director Terry Gilliam said Were making a movie to make five-year-olds laugh!. This outrageous retelling of the King Arthur story is jammed with it all- highbrow humor (Dennis, the peasant, offers deep political analysis as he tries to catch fish with a club) dark humor (Tis just a flesh wound!) to downright silly (We are the Knights who say Ni!). This 1975 classic has developed an enormous cult following.
Filmmaker and Film Historian Glenn Andreiev returns to the Cinema with an on-line presentation and discussion of this timeless tale of killer bunnies, coconuts and Castle Arghhh! It all isnt just crazy jokes and wild images stitched together. There is a wildly satirical method to all of its madness.
INSTRUCTIONS: Upon receiving your email order confirmation, you can view Glenn’s video introduction to the film, provided in a private Vimeo link available only to ticket-holders. If you need to view the film prior to the discussion, you can rent it from the streaming service of your choice, view it on DVD if you own a copy, or request a copy from your local library. Then, join Glenn for the Zoom call discussion and Q&A on September 10th at 8:00 PM with the provided invitation link.
