We are pleased to share photos from our 4/14/22 event, taken by Iris De Vita:
Thanks to CAC Member and Local Business Leader Ron Epstein and to Everyone who Helped Make this Fundraiser a Great Success!
Ron Epstein is a longtime member and supporter of the Cinema Arts Centre. When our building sustained damage in 2020, expanding our seat-replacement project into a larger renovation, Ron contributed his time and expertise in the field by serving as an in-kind consultant on our project, providing guidance and support throughout our process. As we drew closer to completing our renovations, Ron had the idea to organize and host a private fundraiser in our space, with 100% of all proceeds benefiting the Cinema Arts Centre. Ron set about organizing and rallying our business and civic community to the cause. Those efforts paid off last night, with a fun, successful, and meaningful event in our Sky Room Cafe. The Cinema Arts Centre Reopening Celebration presented by Ron Epstein raised vital funds for our reopening and was attended by approximately 150 people.
Beautiful flowers were provided by Amy Lomele of Amy’s of Huntington. Wine was generously provided by our longtime friends at Bottle and Cases. Six Harbors Brewery provided a refreshing beer selection. And the entire evening was catered by Wild By Nature who provided a delicious selection of hors d’oeuvres. Ron also sponsored an in-person cigar roller from Gold Coast Cigar Co. who rolled special branded cigars for guests to take home. The Steve Salerno & Mike Hall Duo performed wonderful guitar and stand-up bass music all night long.
Ron opened the event, sharing his Cinema Arts Centre Story with us, thanking our generous sponsors and supporters, and overseeing a ceremonial ribbon cutting.
Ron introduced the many elected officials in attendance. NY State Senator Jim Gaughran shared a proclamation for the reopening of the Cinema. New York State Assemblyman Steve Stern also shared a proclamation and kind and generous remarks with our attendees. Representing the Town of Huntington, Councilwoman Joan Cergol, Councilman Dr. Dave Bennardo, and Receiver of Taxes Jillian Guthman shared a proclamation from the Town of Huntington, and each shared thoughtful and heartfelt words about the role of the Cinema Arts Centre in our community.
Next, Dino Carfora from Morgan Stanley spoke about Morgan Stanley’s decision to provide generous sponsorship to support the reopening of the Cinema Arts Centre. Morgan Stanley stepped up to serve as “Executive Producer” of the event, helping to ensure our success.
CAC Board Member Michael Troisi spoke on behalf of Rivkin Radler LLP, longtime Cinema sponsor and Co-Producer of our reopening celebration.
CAC Co-Directors Charlotte Sky and Dylan Skolnick closed the evening by presenting an award to Ron Epstein in appreciation of his extraordinary efforts and support of the Cinema Arts Centre and our reopening.
