In late 1960s Illinois, small-time criminal William O’Neal (Lakeith Stanfield) is enlisted by the Feds to infiltrate the local chapter of the Black Panther Party. Caught between charismatic revolutionary leader Fred Hampton (Daniel Kaluuya) and his FBI handler (Jesse Plemons), O’Neal has his loyalty tested, tries to evade discovery and contemplates a life-changing betrayal.
