The world’s first full painted feature film, Loving Vincent explores the life and mysterious death of famed Vincent Van Gogh in 1890 France. Armand Roulin is instructed to hand-deliver Vincent van Gogh’s final letter to his brother Theo. Arriving in Auvers-sur-Oise where the troubled painter lived, Armand ends up investigating Van Gogh’s final days. Nominated for the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature, each of the film’s 65,000 frames is an oil painting on canvas, using the same technique as Van Gogh, created by a team of 115 painters.
