The Long Island Youth Film Festival aims to showcase local filmmakers 25 and under from the greater Long Island area and foster a community of young creatives. Submit in one of 4 competitive categories: narrative short, documentary short, feature film, or high school short, for a chance to see your work exhibited at one of Long Island’s premier independent cinemas.

Long Island Youth Film Festival (LIYFF) provides an opportunity for young filmmakers from Long Island, NY to share their work through public screenings and promotion through a weekend-long film festival! Submit your films to have a chance to be featured at Long Island’s premier arthouse cinema and be awarded a variety of prizes for your filmmaking achievements!
An initiative of the Cinema Arts Centre’s Youth Advisory Board, the LIYFF aims to showcase local filmmakers ages 25 and under from the greater Long Island area and foster a community of young creatives.
LIYFF is currently seeking film submissions from youth (ages 25 and under) residing in or creating films on Long Island, New York (Nassau, Suffolk, Queens, and Kings Counties) in the following categories: High School Short, Documentary Short, Narrative Short, and Feature film.

Films must be created by filmmakers who are 25 years old or younger, defined as turning 26 years old on or after September 1, 2025.
Films must be created by filmmakers residing or making films in the greater Long Island area, defined as Suffolk, Nassau, Queens, or Kings counties in the state of New York.
Films in the short categories (High School Short, Narrative Short, or Documentary Short) must be 30 minutes or under in length. Films in the feature category must be 30 minutes or longer.
Submission does not guarantee selection for inclusion in The Long Island Youth Film Festival. Submission fee is non-refundable.
Legal responsibility for all intellectual property rights falls on the submitter.
