Legendary starlet Fay Wray stars in Erich von Stroheim’s silent masterpiece that launched her to stardom. Set in pre–World War I Vienna, Stroheim also stars as Prince Nickolas, an aristocrat pressured into marrying for wealth to preserve his family’s fading status. But during a lavish Corpus Christi procession, he falls for Mitzi (Wray), the beautiful daughter of a humble innkeeper. Featuring Von Stroheim’s signature opulence and extravagant mise-en-scene, The Wedding March remains one of silent cinema’s most visually sumptuous achievements. (USA, 1928, 113 mins, Silent with English intertitles | Dir. Erich von Stroheim)

Featuring a new restoration courtesy of Paramount Pictures Archives, created in collaboration with the Library of Congress and film historian Kevin Brownlow.
